Choosing the Right Toddler Costume
As a parent of a toddler, you’re likely to think of all the factors surrounding Halloween, such as flashlights for the dark, comfort in cold weather, or what to do with your young one at a Halloween party.
When it’s time to trick or treat with your toddler, it is best to take the baby out before it gets too dark outside, perhaps just after dinner, and with other children. For best visibility from drivers in the area have your child wear a colorful costume with added reflective tape. This will help ensure that your Halloween is safe and fun your child will enjoy the experience.
If your toddler is not potty trained, before sure to purchase a costume that is easy to remove for changing. Cotton fabrics are durable and soft as opposed to polyester. Plush fabrics and fleece are great for colder climates, but of course a lighter material is best for warm areas like Florida and Hawaii. Be sure to look out for anything that might be pulled off or choked on. Check the costume label to be sure the outfit is flame retardant and machine washable.
For your toddler, newborn or infant there are a variety of styles and sizes to choose from. There are TV and movie characters, animals and insects, fairytale and storybook characters, on-the-job costumes, superhero characters, space aliens and more.

Keep in mind that your baby and or toddler may accidentally soil in his or her costume, drool, spill, and spit up. This is why it is important to make sure the costume is not spot clean only.
